The first time I had the pleasure to document Haylea and Josh’s love story was at this very overlook almost one year ago exactly. A very thoughtful friend purchased a photoshoot for Haylea as a birthday gift and we chose Thunder Hill as the setting. Little did we know, we would all be right back in this spot for these two to tie the knot.
You’ve heard the “they had to re-plan their wedding” story, but this one is a bit different. Haylea is from Canada and after graduating from Lenoir Rhyne, she had to move back home. Little did they know, COVID would have other plans and she and Josh would have to stay apart for 140+ days because of Canada’s strict rules with travel in and out of the country during the pandemic. The first opportunity Haylea had to come to the US, these two knew they couldn’t wait any longer or spend any more time apart, so they decided to elope!
On the most perfect day I have ever seen at Thunder Hill, Haylea climbed the fence in her wedding dress, walked down the goldenrod lined aisle and these two said “I Do” with the most perfect mountain backdrop and some of their closest friends as witnesses.
I’m so grateful to have had a Tuesday evening open to be able to document more of this love story.
